Place the new junction box in the location you marked for installation of light. Measure the distance between the junction box of the old and the new use of a tape measure. Insert the cable into each of the junction boxes. Connect the cables to the junction box by connecting the ground wire first, then white, then black. Secure the mounting plate porch light. Pull wires through the mounting plate and connected to the lamp using plastic wire nuts. Push wires back into the junction box while aligning the device in the mounting plate.
Attach the accessory mounting plate with the hardware provided. Install a light bulb and replace the cap of decorative light according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Turn on the computer and test outdoor porch lights.
